what fabrics to you use?

We only make use of natural fabrics. One of our core values is that we do not use synthetic fibres. We make use of linen, cotton, bamboo, tencel, hemp , wool and rayon.
We are constantly on the lookout for more sustainable fabrics that are available in south africa.

Why do you not use synthetic fibres?

Most chemical fibres are petroleum based, which means they come from non-renewable resources and essentially have the same environmental impact as plastic. They are much cheaper to produce than natural fibers, but their true cost is far greater.

One piece of clothing can release 700 00 fibers in a single wash. Once our clothes reach a washing machine, the synthetic fibres release tiny micro fibres. These are essentially microscopic pieces of plastic, just like the microbeads you find in cosmetics.
Everytime you run your washing machine, hundreds and thousands of micro fibres are flushed down the drain. Many reach beaches and oceans where they remain for hundreds of years. Swallowed by fish and other sealife, microplastics travel up the food chain, where they end up on our plates and are slowly becoming part of and negatively affecting our entire ecosystem and survival.
Polyester, spandex, nylon take 20-200 years to decompose.

Nylon production releases nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas that is 300 times more environmentally damaging than co2.

How do i wash and care for my items?

When on the item you are interested in purchasing, you will find an ‘additional information’ tab. Here you can see the care instructions for the specific garment.
Genereal rule of thumb with caring for an item made up of natural fabric: cold hand wash. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Wash separately. Cool iron preferably on reverse

Are you able to customize an item for me?

Regrettably our production method does not allow for custom sizes or styles.
Unfortunately, our team is just too small.

Why does my garment have a fabric flaw?

Natural fabrics are made up of natural fibres and sometimes another fibre or a fibres of a slightly different colour or texture get woven into the fabric during the weaving process. We take great care to ensure our garments do not have these flaws but sometimes it happens and it is a part of what makes the garment special.

DO THE PRICES SHOWN INCLUDE VAT?

Yes, the item prices include VAT.

IS THERE A SIZE GUIDE ?

WHAT IF THE PRODUCT I WANT IS SOLD OUT?

If an item is sold out, depending on the success of a style, we will try to restock it as soon as possible. You can also subscribe to a waiting list for the style/product and an email will be sent to you as soon as its back in stock.

Unfortunately not. All orders must be placed and paid for online before an order can be processed.

IS PAYMENT SECURE?

Yes, payment is 100% secure. Transactions carried out on www.sittingpretty.co.za are secured by our partnerS, PayFast, PayGate and Snapscan payment system.

Our partners use Extended Validation SSL with 256-bit encryption, the highest, level of encryption currently available. 3D Secure is also in place for all credit card transactions.

WILL MY CARD DETAILS BE RETAINED ?

Absolutely no card details are stored on our website. Your card details are entered directly onto the secure server hosted by our technical and financial partner, PayFast.

HOW DO I GET AN INVOICE FOR MY ORDER?

When your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with your invoice. You can also access your invoice from your Account Dashboard. Click on the relevant order and look below the list of items included in the order for the “Print Invoice” link.

HAVE YOU RECEIVED MY PAYMENT?

As soon as we receive your payment we will send you an email to confirm that your payment has been processed and that all is in order.

I LOST CONNECTION WHILE TRYING TO PAY AND I'M NOT SURE IF MY PAYMENT WAS SUCCESSFUL?

If your payment was successful, you will receive and email confirming your payment.

Please note we do not ship to P.O Boxes. Our couriers will need a signature to deliver.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

For all South-African orders

WE WILL DELIVER WITHIN 2 TO 7 WORKING DAYS AFTER RECEIVING PAYMENT DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION. For outlying and regional areas such as Kakemas or Hermanus for example, your delivery might take a few days longer. Usually not longer than 3 extra working days.

We process orders from 08h00 – 13h00 on weekdays. So, if you order before 13h00, we will try to send your package off with our couriers on the same day – meaning you should receive your order within 3 working days. Local couriers take 1 – 3 days to deliver but outlying and regional areas such as Kakemas or Hermanus for example, your delivery might take a few days longer. Usually though, not longer than 3 extra working days.

For all international orders

We process orders within 24 hours of order. We usually send the following working day and it takes approximately 3-8 business days worldwide. Sent with DHL Express service.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

For local shipments, a change of address can be emailed to us via customercare@sittingpretty.co.za if your order has already been shipped you will be liable for any additional shipping costs occurred.

With DHL shipments, this can be done at any time via the DHL website using your tracking number. If you are making a drastic change, such as country or state, this must be done before we ship the product out.

HOW DO I TRACK MY PACKAGE?

Local shipping

We use fedex for local shipping, you will not receive a tracking number but you will be notified when your order has been shipped. If you are concerned about the delivery of your order you can email us at customercare@sittingpretty.co.za and we will track it for you.

International shipping

When we ship off your order, we have live shipping with DHL, they send you everything you need to know regarding your package.

HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?

South Africa Courier

Shipping in South Africa is free.* When you spend more than R1000, for any orders under this amount there is a flat fee of R100. This is a door to door service via FedEx

**With Clearance and Black Friday Sales, Sitting Pretty will charge a standard fee of R100 for shipping which will be added to your order.

International Shipping

International shipping is free on all orders above US$120, for any orders under this amount there will be a flat fee of US$ 20.
This is sent with a DHL Express service and usually takes between 3 and 10 working days from the fulfilment date.

CAN I CHANGE A DELIVERY ADDRESS / THE CONTENTS OF THE DELIVERY?

Once the order has been confirmed, it is unfortunately no longer possible to make any changes.

This is because, to guarantee you the shortest delivery times, we prepare and dispatch your order within hours of you confirming your basket.

However, it is possible to amend your default address for your future orders within the ‘my details’ section in your customer area.

HOW LONG ARE YOUR DELIVERY TIMES?

South Africa

We will deliver within 2 to 7 days after receiving payment depending on your location. A day refers to a working day and would exclude Saturday/Sunday and public holidays.

The following delivery times are given as indication and depend on the day and time of your order, as well as our carrier partner.

For each order placed before 12pm, Monday to Friday, your order will be shipped the same day. If you order after 4pm, your order is shipped the next working day.

 

International

We use DHL express and delivery usually takes 3-10 business days

Customs and import duties are calculated by the receiving country and are therefore the buyers responsibility.

Please note that during special operations or sales, a 72H delay for order treatment need to be added to shipping for all orders.

We do accept product returns

For all South-African orders

COUNTING FROM THE DATE YOUR ORDER WAS DELIVERED TO YOU, YOU HAVE 14 (FOURTEEN) WORKING DAYS IN WHICH TO RETURN THE PRODUCTS ORDERED.

RETURNS CAN ONLY BE MADE BY ADHERING STRICTLY TO THE PROCEDURE BELOW.

YOU MUST COMPLETE FULLY THE RETURN FORM THAT YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE HERE.

ONCE ARRANGED, WE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE WAYBILL DETAILS THE COURIER WILL GIVE YOU. ALL DETAILS MUST BE ENTERED EXACTLY AS INDICATED AND IF ANY HAS BEEN ENTERED WRONG YOU WILL BE HELD LIABLE FOR THE COURIER FEES.

PRODUCTS MUST BE RETURNED IN THEIR ORIGINAL PACKAGING, WITH THEIR LABELS INTACT AND ANY ACCESSORIES INCLUDED, IN PERFECT CONDITION FOR RE-SALE. THEY MUST NOT THEREFORE HAVE BEEN WORN, WASHED OR DAMAGED.

IF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE MET, ONCE THE RETURN HAS BEEN APPROVED, THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE ITEMS RETURNED, INCLUDING VAT, WILL BE REFUNDED OR, IF YOU WISH SO, AN EXCHANGE PRODUCT WILL BE SENT TO YOU, DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY.

AN EXCHANGE CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED IF IT IS AN IDENTICAL ITEM IN A DIFFERENT SIZE, AN IDENTICAL ITEM WITHOUT ANY EVENTUAL DEFECTS OR AN ITEM AT THE EXACT SAME RETAIL PRICE.

EXCHANGES ARE SUBJECT TO STOCK AVAILABILITY. IF THE ITEM IS IN STOCK, IT WILL BE SENT TO YOU FREE OF CHARGE WITHIN A MAXIMUM OF 15 DAYS.

IN CASE OF A REFUND, YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL INDICATING THAT THE REFUND WILL BE PAID ON YOUR BANK ACCOUNT WITHIN A MAXIMUM OF 30 DAYS. YOU WILL BE REFUNDED USING THE EXACT SAME BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS PROVIDED USED FOR YOUR PAYMENT. CASH REFUNDS ARE NOT POSSIBLE.

SITTING PRETTY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT RETURNS SENT OR COMMUNICATED BEYOND THE RETURN PERIOD LIMIT, OR ITEMS, WHICH AREN’T IN THE SAME CONDITION IN WHICH THEY WERE RECEIVED.

FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

-The returned product must be in the original condition as sent.
-The returned product must come with the original packaging.
-You are responsible for getting the product back to us.
-Once we get the product back, we will refund you in full less any shipping costs/duties we have had to pay.

HOW DO I RETURN AN ITEM?

For orders placed in South-Africa :

Counting from the date your order was delivered to you, you have 14 (fourteen) working days in which to return the products ordered.

Returns can only be made by adhering strictly to the procedure below.

You must complete the return form in full. Click here.

  • Once collection is arranged, the courier will give you a waybill. We will provide you with waybill details which must be entered exactly as indicated, if any information is  entered incorrectly you will be held liable for the courier fees.
  • Products must be returned in their original packaging, with their labels intact and any accessories included, in perfect condition for re-sale. They must therefore be unworn, unwashed and undamaged.
  • If the above conditions are met, once the return has been approved, the total amount of the items returned, including vat, will be refunded or exchanged depending on your preference and on product availability.
  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the item is in stock, it will be sent to you free of charge within a maximum of 14 days.
  • In case of a refund, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that the refund will be paid on your bank account within a maximum of 30 days. You will be refunded using the exact same bank account details provided used for your payment. Cash refunds are not possible.
  • Strictly no returns on clearance items sold on black Friday
  • Sitting pretty reserves the right to reject returns sent or communicated beyond the return period limit, or items, which are not in the same condition in which they were received.

International returns

  • The returned product must be in the original condition as sent.
  • The returned product must come with original packaging.
  • The customer is responsible for getting the product back to us.
    Once received, we will refund you in full less any shipping costs/duties we have incurred.
  • No exchanges on international orders

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY REFUND?

Once the return has been approved, the total amount of the items returned, including VAT, will be refunded.

If you wish to only return part of your order or if you paid via Snapscan, we will request your banking details via email. If you wish to be refunded in full, you will be refunded via EFT or Payfast. Strictly no cash refunds are not possible.

Sitting Pretty reserves the right to reject returns sent or communicated beyond the return period limit, or items, which aren’t in the same condition in which they were received.

DO I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING TO RETURN MY ITEMS?

For orders placed within South-Africa returns are free and subject to our return policy.

For orders placed outside of South-Africa, the customer is liable for the courier fees as well as duties and taxes incurred upon re-entry of the goods into South-Africa, which will be deducted from the refundable amount.

MY ITEM HAS A FAULT

Sitting Pretty pays particular attention to the quality of its products. However, should you find any fault despite all the quality checks carried out, please inform us of this problem so that we can send you a replacement or a refund. Please follow the returns procedure and state the reason for returning. If we accept the fault, you have the choice of exchanging your item (subject to availability) or a refund.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA?

We collect a certain amount of information that is required for processing orders. All these details are treated with the utmost confidentiality and will never be disclosed to any third parties.

You can always modify your personal data by connecting to your account page on our website using your email address and password.

HOW DO I USE THE GIFT CARD ON MY PURCHASE?

Once we’ve received the payment for the Gift Card you purchased, an email will be sent to you with the gift card voucher number.

Simply enter the code emailed to you during Checkout into the block provided and select ‘Apply Coupon’.

HOW LONG IS THE GIFT CARD VALID?

Our Gift Cards do not have an expiry date.
